Sounding Shores, Sounding Depths

Trinkets of times, curios that surface. A trace of everyday life, once. A fragment slipped out of time. The ground, layers of sedimented time. The river, a sea of timelessness. Objects uncovered by currents eroding the river shore and bed. Time suddenly exposed, layers muddled up. An attentive wandering pair of eyes on the shore, steels a bit of time from the tide.

The river holds everything, remembers everything.

‘Sounding shores, sounding depths’ is an invitation to come together to sound the river, to imagine its depths. Connecting their research on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok with the Schelde in Antwerp, Lassus will be presenting part of their video installation work a jewel in the mud, along with elements of their ongoing research and meandering in Antwerp. The session will be an invitation to read objects, fragments and texts together and reflect on questions of research, archive and memory, recentering the sensorial, speculative and tactile.

Developed collaboratively by Morpho and Out of Sight, Cinema Sessions unfolds as a series of expanded film screenings and cinematic events hosted at Out of Sight. The programme is shaped by both organisations: Morpho through its residency programme, and Out of Sight through its Public Programme in collaboration with participating artists and since 2026 in dialogue with the Study Circle Antwerp*. Together, they create a space where moving image intersects with artistic research, collective reflection, and shared experience.
