Francisco López is internationally recognised as one of the major figures of the sound art and experimental music scene. For almost forty years he has developed an astonishing sonic universe, absolutely personal and iconoclastic, based on a profound listening of the world. Destroying boundaries between industrial sounds and wilderness sound environments, shifting with passion from the limits of perception to the most dreadful abyss of sonic power, proposing a blind, profound and transcendental listening, freed from the imperatives of knowledge and open to sensory and spiritual expansion.

We invite you for Francisco López’s presentation at Out of Sight. Francisco will discuss how his sound creative practice has been shaped over the past 40+ years by two main environments of influence that divert from common music training: the independent home-music worldwide network (starting in the late 70s) and the influence of ‘real world’ sonic environments, particularly from nature. He will present these realms in a much wider social and historical context, recognising and discussing the immense influence they have had on a gigantic community of sonic creators worldwide for several decades now.
