Since 2008, artist David Bergé has been making Walk Pieces, during which he guides participants in silence along a precise trajectory and within a precise timeframe through textures and infrastructures that comprise the city. Participating in a Walk Piece and/or your personal experience of reading this book are the only valid materialisation of David Bergé’s ephemeral works.
It joins together texts by David Bergé, photos by Seoul-based Junyong Cho, and essays by Dieter Roelstraete (author of Richard Long: A Line Made by Walking) and Marcelo Rezende (co-director of the Archiv der Avantgarden in Dresden). Published by Jap Sam Books.
The book was integral part of David Bergé’s solo exhibition A WALK IH HIGH RESOLUTION at Out of Sight from 23 November – 22 December 2019.
